Course Description

This course provides training on the Small Unmanned Ground Vehicle (SUGV) Capabilities and Characteristics, Operational Configuration, Operator Level Maintenance and Troubleshooting, Line of Sight and Non-Line of Sight Maneuvers, Fundamentals of Instruction and Mission Oriented Practical Exercises.

Reporting Instructions

Students are to report to BLDG 2491 located on Lawson Army Airfield, Fort Benning, GA. The building is an Aircraft Hangar located on Jacelin Rd. On Report date no later than 0800 on the first day of the course.

Landmark to BLDG: There is a refurbished Front Line Ambulance (FLA) from WW2 next to Jacelin Rd. This is the parking lot where students should park.

DAY 3: Non-Line of Sight Maneuvers
DAY 4: Mission Oriented Practical Exercise
DAY 5: Graduation

Additional Information
  • SUGV Trainer Course does not provide meals or billeting for soldiers it is solely up to the sending units.
  • SUGV Trainer Course does not provide transportation from billeting to the school house for soldiers it is solely up to there units.
  • SUGV Trainer Course does provide transportation from school house to training site and back to school house.
  • 0830 in classroom in ACU on first day of school

The Infantry Commandant is the waiver approval authority for this course.

Students requesting course/phase prerequisite waivers (e.g. AOC/MOS, Rank/Grade, etc.) or units requesting changes to POI content (e.g. during "on site" course conducts (MTT) request to delete/modify lessons/blocks of instruction, shortage of equipment, etc.) will submit their request through the first LTC Commander in their chain of command to:

Waivers must be submitted NLT 75 days prior to the class start date.
