Supporting the Mission - Protecting the Environment

 

Protecting the environment is everyone's responsibility. In every aspect of Fort Benning's mission, whether it be training Infantry Soldiers or preparing for overseas deployments, the protection of the natural and manmade environment is a priority. Fort Benning has an extensive environmental program managing issues ranging from endangered species to stormwater to hazardous waste.

The Environmental Management Division provides overall program management and is divided into three branches. The Environmental Programs Management Branch focuses on pollution control and compliance. The Conservation Branch focuses on wildlife management. The Land Management Branch controls land and timber resources.
