Sniper in woods

THE US ARMY SNIPER SCHOOL IS A SEVEN WEEK COURSE, WITH MARKSMANSHIP, RANGE ESTIMATION, TARGET DETECTION, STALKS,AND WRITTEN EXAMS AS THE MAJOR BLOCKS OF INSTRUCTION. UPON SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION, A STUDENT WILL RECEIVE A DIPLOMA AND 11B/OR 18 SERIES AN ASI OF B4.

Reporting Instructions

FUTURE SNIPERS REPORTING TO SNIPER SCHOOL SHOULD ARRIVE AT BUILDING 4883 IN HARMONY CHURCH NLT 0700 ON THEIR REPORT DAY. THEY SHOULD REPORT IN DUTY ACUS, INCLUDING UNIT APPROPRIATE HEADGEAR, WITH THEIR COMPLETE PACKING LIST AND ALL PAPERWORK BRINGING THEM TO SNIPER SCHOOL TO INCLUDE:

  • ID CARD
  • 2 SETS OF ID TAGS WITH CHAINS
  • ERB/ OR DA FORMS 2-1 AND 2A
  • MEDICAL RECORDS
  • BATALION OR COMPANY COMMANDERS LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION
  • DA FORM 3822-R (MENTAL EVALUATION WITHIN SIX MONTHS)
  • SF 88 OR DD 2807-1/2808 (PHYSICAL EXAM WITHIN LAST TWO YEARS)
  • RIFLE MARKSMANSHIP SCORE CARD (EXPERT WITHIN LAST 6 MONTHS)
  • DA FORM 705 COMPLETED WITHIN 30 DAYS, MUST SHOW 70% OR HIGHER IN EACH EVENT
  • 5 COPIES OF ORDERS AND ALL AMENDMENTS
  • GOVERNMANT TRAVEL CARD IF AUTHORIZED

WEEK 6- ALTERNATE FIRING POSITIONS, M107, FINAL EXAM
WEEK 7- FTX, FINAL SHOT, GRADUATION

Additional Information

GRADUATION REQUIREIMENTS:

In order to successfully complete the course and be a graduate all students must:

  • NOT CONDUCT ANY HONOR CODE VIOLATIONS AS LISTED IN THE SNIPER SOP.
  • NOT MISS MORE THAN FOUR HOURS OF TRAINING DURING THE ENTIRE COURSE.

FINAL NOTES: *Students will wear boonie hats during training. If students leave the USASS Compound in uniform, they are required to wear their uniform IAW AR 670-1 to include the Beret.

*If you wear glasses, bring 2 pair of military issue of current prescription. Contacts and civilian eyewear are authorized.

*You will be authorized use of sunscreen and insect repellent if you choose to bring it.

*You may bring Cell phones and Laptops for use AFTER TRAINING HOURS.

*Students may complete Ghillie Suit IAW USASS before reporting. Students may use any style uniform as the base for their Ghillie Suit. COTS (commercial off the shelf) Ghillie suits and items are authorized.
