AIRBORNE AND RANGER TRAINING BRIGADE

1-507th Welcome Header

1st Battalion, 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment trains Paratroopers, Jumpmasters, and Pathfinders in order to provide the Department of Defense with Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines to conduct airborne operations anywhere DOD-wide, forge the Paratrooper spirit in the junior leadership of the DOD and to provide a world-class quality of life for our Soldiers, Civilians, and Army Families.

The new TC 3-21.220, Static Line Parachuting Techniques and Training, October 2013 is released for units to abide by.

Physical Requirements

1) ALL students must meet the weight requirement of 110 lbs (in ACUs) to attend the Basic Airborne Course. Students must MAINTAIN this weight throughout training and jump week. If a student falls under the minimum weight limit they will be released from the course. The 110 lbs standard is the minimum acceptable weight to meet the minimum 160lbs weight for jumping the T-11ATPS. (110+T-11 weight = 162.2)

Graduation Information

Graduations are held at Airborne Walk/ Eubanks Field, directly east of the 250' Towers on Main Post. In case of inclement weather during the week, graduation will be held on Fryar Drop Zone. The ceremony begins at 0900 (May-September) and 1100 (October-April) on the final Friday of the three week course. So you want to be a Blackhat

If you are interested in becoming a member of the 507th team, we would love to have you providing you have no adverse action or moral failures (DUI, DV, etc) within the last 12 months, meet Army HT/WT requirements, and can meet the Abn standards of fitness (60% on the 17-21 age group). Your MOS is immaterial.

In order to be assigned to 1/507th, contact your branch manager and request an assignment to Fort Benning. Once your branch has agreed to assign you to Fort Benning, please immediately contact the Abn Assignment Manager: Samantha.g.barnes.civ@mail.mil.
