Billeting, Transportation, Meals, and In-Processing


Billeting:

Students attending the Scout Leader Course will use Abrams Hall (Holiday Inn Express),on Fort Benning, GA for all billeting assignments. Students will need to report to Abrams Hall no later than 1600 on Day 0. Abrams Hall’s address is Building 1670, 7350 Ingersoll Road Zip code:31905. The front desk can be reached by dialing 706-689-0067or by e-mailing IHGAbramsListens@gmail.com. Students will need to ensure their government travel card is active and they do not owe any outstanding payments prior to arrival.

Privately Owned Vehicles (POV) or Government Rentals:

Students are not provided transportation to and from class. The Scout Leader Course is not the authorizing authority for the use of Privately Owned Vehicles or government rentals. It is highly encouraged that units approve their students for the use of these vehicles as the billets, classrooms, and DFACs are not co-located. Abrams Hall is approximately 7.6 miles, one way, from the main instruction building.

Privately Owned Weapons (POW):

If a student attending Scout Leader Course is in possession of a personally owned firearm, they will ensure they are in accordance with MCOE Policy 190-11.

Meals:

The Scout Leader Course provides meals for all students while they are training in a field environment. It is recommended that units approve the use of government meals as students will have access to the installation DFACs during the classroom portion of the Scout Leader Course. Students using the DFACs will need to show their military ID (CAC) and DD Form 1610 at the register. Supporting DFACs will be covered during in-processing (Day 1) as conditions change.

In-Processing:

Students will report for in-processing at the front of Patton Hall, Building 5145, Harmony Church, on Fort Benning, Georgia NLT 0500 on Day 1 in their service's duty uniform. Students will bring: their ID cards, ID tags, pen/pencil, notebook, water source and a copy of their latest APFT/ACFT scorecard. Once accountability formation is complete, students will move inside Patton Hall and receive an in-brief from the Troop Leadership, Course Leadership and Squadron Commander. Students will then be assigned to their individual classrooms and conduct laptop draw.
