Company Commander / First Sergeant Pre-Command Course (CCFSPCC)

Description


The Company Commander / First Sergeant Pre-Command Course is a 40-hour education program designed to prepare and orient Company Commanders and First Sergeants for duty at Fort Benning. It provides pertinent information and an opportunity to train as a Command Team. This course is required for all Company Commanders / First Sergeants and may be attended prior to but must be attended within 90 days after assuming their duties as a Company Commander or First Sergeant.

Subject areas covered: Establish and Maintain Positive Command Climate; Maintain Good Order and Discipline (UCMJ, Administrative Separations, AR 15-6 investigations, environmental law, reporting/investigating known or suspected criminal activity); Health Promotion / Risk Reduction; Suicide Prevention; Sexual Harassment/ Assault Prevention (SHARP); Army Substance Abuse Program (ASAP); Equal Opportunity; Leader Development; Planning, Preparing and Executing Individual and Collective Training; Company Administrative Requirements (Chapter Actions, FLAGS, Rating Chains, OERs/NCOERs, Line of Duty Investigations, Sponsorship Programs, Personnel accounting, Soldier Transitions, Integrated Disability Evaluation System); Command Supply Discipline Program (CSDP); Unit Maintenance Program; Comprehensive Soldier Fitness; Family Readiness Groups and Family Programs; Soldier Medical Readiness; Army Retention Program; Army Profession/Profession of Arms; Concussion/mTBI; Protection of Classified and Sensitive Information; and Unit Safety and Risk Management.

All subject areas are addressed by a mix of VIP, guest speakers, and resident subject matter experts.

Outcome


A company level Command Team that applies regulatory administrative processes, property accountability, and training management adhering to Army regulations, programs, and policies.

Prerequisites


Students must:

  • Be either an officer (1LT or above) or an NCO (E7 or above). Promotable First Lieutenants and Sergeants First Class may attend on a standby basis provided they have one year retainability and the possibility of serving as a Company Commander or First Sergeant while assigned to Fort Benning.
  • Complete the LEADER SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH COURSE by following these instructions

Note: Provide certificate of completion dated within one calendar year.

  • Meet height and weight standards IAW AR 600-9.
  • Not be flagged or pending UCMJ action.
