Instructor Observation Course (IOC)

Description


The Instructor Observation Course is the two-day workshop which replaces the Instructor Observation Course (IOC) in FY 24. The Instructor Observation Course (IOC) is an 8-hour course that teaches instructors how to assess other instructors using the Instructor Observation Rubric (IOR), TRADOC Form (TF) 600-21-1. The outcome of the course is that graduates will be able to observe instructors, assess teaching, and provide useful feedback to the instructors observed using the criteria described in the IOR. Completion of the IOC satisfies the guidance and requirements outlined in the most current version of the TRADOC Regulation 600-21, Faculty Development and Recognition Program. Dates are subject to change.

Prerequisites


  • Must meet height and weight standards IAW AR 600-9.
  • Must not be flagged or pending UCMJ action.

Registration is conducted by the unit Schools NCO using the Registration Form.
Note: Priority is given to assigned instructors on a first come first served basis.
