Doughboy Stadium was built of poured concrete between November 1924 and Oct 1925.  It was funded by Soldiers’ donations and dedicated to those who died World War I.  The two towers and front wall were added shortly after its dedication.  Various shops such as the Post Taylor shop and the commissary occupied the enclosed spaces under the stands in the first two decades.
