Federal Road Crossing

Engineer Landing has long been a natural fording site for Indians and white settlers.  For several years before they were removed from the area in 1828, the Lower Creek Indians operated a ferry system of rafts or small boats here where the Federal Road crosses the Chattahoochee River.  This site is still used today for Army floating bridge training.
