Where does P3T take place?”

  • P3T takes place in lieu of unit physical training sessions at the Tactical Athlete Performance Center. Attendance will be taken daily.
  • Education sessions are considered to be part of the P3T Program. They are mandatory weekly for pregnant Soldiers and monthly for postpartum Soldiers. These will be coordinated through Martin Army Community Hospital.
  • P3T sessions are led by Exercise Leaders, Soldiers who have been trained by unit Instructor Trainers to lead the workouts.

How Do I Enroll in P3T?

  • A healthcare provider verifies the Soldier’s pregnancy and initiates a pregnancy profile.
  • The unit Commander counsels the Soldier on participation in the P3T program and sends the Soldier’s contact information to the P3T Program Manager and NCOIC.
  • The Program Manager or NCOIC reaches out to the Soldier to provide instructions to begin participating in P3T.
  • The Soldier brings in their signed DA Form 4856 and begins P3T.

What happens after I give birth?

  • Modified exercise programming is available for Soldiers to complete at home during their convalescent and parental leave.
  • Following convalescent and parental leave, the Soldier should return to P3T in lieu of unit PT until 6 months postpartum.
  • Soldiers are eligible to stay in the program for a minimum of 6 months and up to 1 year with Commander approval

When is a Soldier disenrolled from P3T?

  • A Soldier may be disenrolled between 180-365 days postpartum;
  • OR
  • A Solider may be disenrolled when they pass a diagnostic ACFT AND a healthcare provider has cleared the Soldier to return to unit physical training AND the Company Commander approves the Soldier’s return to unit PT instead of P3T.

Is a postpartum Soldier required to conduct height and weight and a record ACFT?

Soldiers are exempt from conducting record height and weight measurements or taking a record ACFT until 365 days postpartum. Soldiers may elect to take diagnostic assessments prior to 365 days postpartum at their discretion.
