Field & Sustainment Level maintenance support as well as Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) item inspections/repairs are conducted at the Mizener Wheel and Tracked Sustainment Complex in Harmony Church.
The Mizener Complex enables DOL to accomplish AMC’s Single Source of Repair, perform Pass-Back Field & Sustainment workload for the Installation, the TACOM/DOL Corrosion Prevention and Control Center supporting all Fort Benning units:
Work orders and equipment are processed through Shop A (Building 5300). Production, Planning and Control section, as well as inspectors, are located on the second floor.
The Mizener Complex has a full range of services to include preventive maintenance checks and services, routine maintenance, unscheduled maintenance and repair, and modifications to military and civilian equipment on Tactical Wheel Vehicles (Light/Heavy), Tactical/Combat Track Vehicles, Construction Equipment, Gasoline & Diesel Power Generators, Emergency Vehicles as well as Commercial Equipment (i.e. Forklifts, Lawn Mowers, Street Sweepers, Water Trailers, etc.) The Armament Shop provides on-site support for Tow Verification and major turret equipment repair on the M2A2/M2A3 Infantry Fighting Vehicle.
An Allied Trades Shop area is equipped with a machine shop, welding shop, bead blast, and a paint shop. The Machine Shop can handle most machine work needed with its 5 lathes, 3 milling machines, shapers, surface grinder, threaders, and other assorted machines. The Welding/Sheet Metal Shop can do all types of welding to include Tig, Stick, Aluminum, Steel, Stainless Steel, Cast Iron, Armor Plate, Torch, Cutting, Brazing, and Plasma Cutting. Metal Fabrication of complex items like weapons racks, various brackets, and vehicle parts are additional tasks performed.
The Paint Shop is capable of painting all tactical vehicles, special static display vehicles, fire trucks, forklifts, and construction equipment.
