Course Prerequisites

Soldier must be serving in the Active Army, Reserve, National Guard Component; US Marine Corps, US Air Force and US Navy Acitve and Reserve enlisted personnel and Non-Commissioned Officers (E3 - E6) within MOS 11B (Infantry), 19D (Cavalry Scout), 18 (Special Forces) who are assigned or will be assigned to a Sniper MTOE position, not on profile that will not allow them to participate in live fire training, eyesight correctable to 20/20 with issued glasses, a red/green colorblind test that shows passed, height and weight IAW AR 600-9, current ACFT within 30 days of the course start date (DA 5500 if required), current 7801 within Army regulation, and have no family/personal/legal issues that will require early dismissal.

  1. WAIVERS (MINUS MEDICAL) MUST BE SUBMITTED NLT 75 DAYS PRIOR TO THE CLASS START DATE.
  2. WAIVERS FOR MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS MUST BE SUBMITTED NLT 90 DAYS PRIOR TO CLASS START DATE.
  3. ANY WAIVERS SUBMITTED OUTSIDE THE TIMEFRAME MUST BE ACCOMPANIED WITH A LETTER OF LATENESS SIGNED BY O-6 OR HIGHER. ****NO EXCEPTIONS****
  4. WAIVERS MUST BE SUBMITTED BY THE HIGHER HEADQUARTERS SCHOOL NCO (REPRESENTATIVE) ONLY. ****NO EXCEPTIONS****

The Infantry School Commandant is the waiver approval authority.

Students requesting course/phase prerequisite waivers (e.g. AOC/MOS, Rank/Grade, Medical/Physical Standards, etc.) or units requesting changes to POI content (e.g. during "on site" course conducts (MTT) request to delete/modify lessons/blocks of instruction, shortage of equipment, etc.) will submit their request through the first Lt. Col. Commander in their chain of command to:
