Improvised Explosive Device (IED) Construction and Classification course (AWR-333)

Description: The Improved Explosive Device (IED) Construction and Classification course provides an overview of the various components required for IED production. The course is designed to provide foundational knowledge about the construction and classification of IEDs, including their function, components, classifications, and how they are constructed.
Course Length: 60-minutes

AFR -US003-Africa Area Studies Overview Course (5 hrs )

Description: Africa Area Studies Overview Course is designed to familiarize the students with the history, geography, demographics, and recent events and organization at play in the continent of Africa. The course discusses early civilizations and kingdoms, Arab and European exploration and trade with the continent, the spread of Christianity and Islam, as well as the profound influence of the colonial era, Africa's struggle for independence, and the Cold War and Post-Cold War eras. The course also examines current issues and events that have affected or are affecting the continent, such as French influence in Africa, the Muslim and Christian faultline the Muslim Brotherhoods continued tension and conflict in the Horn of Africa the uniqueness of the Maghreb region, the Taureg insurgencies in Mali and Niger Africa's First World War, the second scramble for Africa, U.S. efforts to enhance African peacekeeping capabilities and a brief overview of African militaries. Emphasis is placed on how these issues and events have affected Africa's political, economic, and social development, as well as local and regional stability and security, and how these issues challenge the U.S.

Description: To reduce risk to the nation's critical infrastructure, the Office for Bombing Prevention (OBP) develops and delivers a diverse curriculum of training and awareness products to: Build nationwide counter-improvised explosive device (IED) core capabilities. Enhance awareness of terrorist threats. Coordinated through state homeland security officials and training offices, OBP courses educate on strategies to prevent, protect against, respond to, and mitigate bombing incidents. Federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial participants include: Municipal officials and emergency managers State and local law enforcement and other emergency services Critical infrastructure owners and operators Security staff Public and private sector partners.

Training Center Pros has trained the DEA in Sensitive Site Exploitation in an IED environment as part of their Afghanistan pre-deployment training as well as DHS's Bomb Appraisal Officers in advanced IED electronics, a curriculum designed to prepare the attendees for Improvised WMD fuzing and tactics. The Training Center also builds the most current IED's and the most technologically advanced IWMD's. Our WMD clients include Advanced IED Defeat, NSWG2, II MEF CBIRF and several other commands and defense companies.
