CPT Anthony Formica is the assistant plans officer for Task Force 2, Joint Readiness Training Center Operations Group, Fort Polk, LA. He also served as a weapons-platoon senior observer/coach/trainer at this duty station. His additional past duty assignments include adjutant, security-force assistance platoon leader and Stryker platoon leader, all for 1st Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment, Fort Wainwright, AK. He deployed to Kandahar Province, Afghanistan, while assigned to 1-5 Infantry. CPT Formica’s military schooling includes Air Assault School, Airborne School, Ranger School, Infantry Basic Officer Leader’s Course, Cold Weather Leader’s Course and Maneuver Captain’s Career Course. He holds a bachelor’s of science degree from the U.S. Military Academy in international relations and in Far East Asia area studies (double major).
