Keep in mind that Guest Jumpers are not authorized to jump with students during the students’ first jump. There are no guest jumpers allowed on Pathfinder and Jumpmaster jumps. Guest Jumper space is limited, and Guest Jumpers are accepted on a “first come, first served” basis, priority will go to jumpers in a pay loss/hurt status. On occasion, mission constraints may not allow for any guest jumpers, priority goes to the completion of BAC.

If you are currently on jump status:

• Unit S3 Air coordinates with the MCoE G3 Air NLT TEN days prior to the desired jump date to determine the number of slots available.
• The requesting unit S3 Air will fax one copy of the individual’s DA Form 1307, a DA Form 4187 signed by an O-6 (or O-5 serving in O-6 position with assumption of command orders), or above, stating that the individual is authorized to jump with the Battalion, and which days the individual is allowed to jump, and a memorandum signed by their first 0-6 in their Chain of Command and a copy of the individual’s hazardous duty orders (the copies will be kept on file for future reference) to the MCoE G3 Air. A good POC and number must accompany the request, failure to provide could result in your request not being processed if a question arises. MCoE G3 Air will validate all required documentation and provide a copy to the 1/507th PIR S3 Air.
• Once approved, jumper will report to the 1/507th S3 Air the day prior to the jump for boarding pass and specific timeline or changes.
• Point of Contact is MCoE G3 Air @ (706) 545-2255 / 0747 or 1/507 S3 Air @ (706) 545-1868, DSN 835-1868.

According to MCoE Regulation 350-3, only 1-507th Cadre are authorized to perform Jumpmaster/Safety duties within 1-507th.

The Army regulations that deal with permissive jump status are AR 614-200
and AR 350-1.

Permissive Jump Status

• I. Executive Agent.
  • The Executive Agent for the Permissive Parachuting Program is the Deputy Chief of Staff G1, Personnel, Headquarters, Department of the Army (DCS, G-1 HQDA). The program administrator for the MCoE is the G-3 and his designated representative. The Commander MCoE is the approving authority for Permissive Jump status at the MCoE if the Soldier meets all regulatory guidance specified in AR 614-200 and AR 350-1.
• II. Applicability.
  • The Permissive Parachuting Program is for experienced U.S. Army Airborne qualified Soldiers, assigned to non-airborne positions, to perform parachuting duties required for the performance of their current duty or to maintain parachuting skills in preparation for future Airborne assignment.
• III. Prerequisites
  
  

  The following prerequisites cannot be waived by the local program administrator.

  • A. AR 614-200 and AR 350-1, Subject: Permissive Parachuting Program.
    • (1) Must have completed airborne training and at least 36 cumulative months of parachuting duty in an airborne position.
    • (2) Enlisted Soldiers must possess either SQI P, S, V, or a Career Management Field 18 series Military Occupational Specialty (MOS).
    • (3) Officers must possess either 6IP, 5S or an 18A series.
    • (4) Warrant Officers must possess either SQI 7 or MOS 180A/ 921A.
    • (5) Must have completed the Airborne Refresher Training Course (FM 3-21.220, app A ) within 6 months of planned parachute activity. If the course requires a parachute jump, permissive parachute status must be conditionally approved prior to attending refresher training.
    • (6) Current duty position must require parachuting to perform duties or must be within six months of a Permanent Change of Station (PCS) enroute to an Airborne position. If pending an Airborne assignment, Soldiers must submit a copy of their orders with the request.
    • (7) Must possess a current Airborne Physical.
    • (8) Permissive parachuting is not permitted for motivating personnel, recreational or ceremonial purposes.
  • B. Application Procedures. The following documentation is required and must be endorsed through the Soldier's brigade or 0-6 equivalent command.
    • (1) DA Form 4187 with "Other" block checked. In "remarks" request approval of Permissive Parachute Status with specific justification for jumping and proof of prerequisites listed in para 3-2c.
    • (2) Once processed and approved by the G-3 MCoE, the application will be forwarded to the Commander MCoE for approval. If a waiver is need than the G-3 Air will forward the request for waiver signed by the Commander MCoE and the DA Form 4187 to Deputy Chief of Staff G1, Personnel, Headquarters, Department of the Army (DCS, G-1 HQDA) for final disposition.
    • (3) If Permissive Parachute Status is approved:
      • (a) Soldiers may not perform jumpmaster, High Altitude Low Opening (HALO) jumps, assistant jumpmaster duties, or Safety duties.
      • (b) Soldiers must successfully complete Airborne Refresher Training prior to the first jump.
  • C. Restrictions. Permissive Parachute Status will not be approved for:
    • (1) Periods exceeding 6 months.
    • (2) Civilian personnel.
    • (3) Foreign military personnel.
    • (4) Activities with foreign forces.
    • (5) Personal, recreational or ceremonial reasons (jumping with family member who is attending the Basic Airborne Course.
  • D. The G-3 or his designated representative will:
    • (1) Forward each approved request to DCS, G-1 (DAPE-MPE) 300 Army Pentagon, Washington, DC 20310-0300 if a waiver is required.DCS, G-1 is the approving authority of all waivers.
    • (2) Maintain accounting of Soldiers on permissive parachute status.
  • E. Department of the Army Permissive Jump Subject policy was established by the VCSA and is intended for static line jumping only. It excludes such jumping as HALO, buddy jumping, joy jumping, etc; therefore, Soldiers cannot volunteer to participate in parachute jumping in other than static line mode.
  • F. Once approved, jumper will report to the 1/507th S3 Air the day prior to the jump for boarding pass and specific timeline or changes of the individual’s hazardous duty orders (the copies will be kept on file for future reference) to the MCoE G3 Air.

NO, Fort Benning cannot place any soldier not assigned to the MCoE on permissive jump Status. The Commanding General ONLY of that individual soldier’s Chain of Command can place him/her on permissive jump status.
