RSLC Training Requests

  1. An Operational Force Engagement (OFE) is a coordinated timeframe specifically geared to a unit's requirement or training focus. It may accommodate anything the unit requests we instruct in the RSLC Program of Instruction (POI). It is not an ASI producing course but does offer more flexibility for the training unit focused on tailored and specific training in a timeframe. OFEs are exportable. The training unit determines the training requirements and RSLC determines the amount of support (instructors, equipment, etc) to send. The training unit would be responsible for all instructor TDY and travel as well as making coordinations for training support (such as training areas, medical coverage, ammunition, transportation plan, etc).

  2. A Resident Unit Training (RUT) is an ASI producing course which gives the training unit 54 quotas to a quota source. The students travel to FMGA and RSLC runs a normal 26 day approved POI course. The training unit pays for Class 1, 2, and blade hours. Total cost is approximately $60k including the blade hours for the Proficiency Jump. The RSLC course does all the coordination for land, training areas, logistics, etc. The training unit essentially falls in like a normal RSLC class. The training unit would be responsible for student travel, but meals and lodging would be provided upon arrival. A RUT is convenient to the training unit because the unit essentially buys out a non-ATRRS scheduled course for their own personnel.

  3. A Mobile Training Team (MTT) will also give the training unit 54 quotas, but the host unit will pay for all of the above classes of supply, plus be responsible for coordinating all land and training requirements. Additionally, the host unit will pay the TDY (travel, lodging, per diem, etc) for RSLC Instructors. MTTs are generally more costly and significantly more resource intensive to the host unit to coordinate

  4. Reach out to RSLC Leadership for interest in conducting any of the above training opportunities. RSLC is obligated to retain adequate Instructor coverage to facilitate ATRRS scheduled POI. The above training opportunities may only occur if prior coodinations with RSLC leadership is approved. RSLC POI will always take precedence before conducting any OFE/RUT/MTT's. Please reference ATRRS for availability in between RSLC POI classes. We ask training units to initiate coordinations with RSLC leadership at least 6 months in advanced when requesting to conduct any RUT/MTT. For OFE's, we ask training units to initiate coordinations with RSLC leadership at least 3 months in advanced for any OFE's 5 days or more in length. OFE's less than 5 days in length generally require fewer RSLC Instructors and equipment to support and may be coordinated within 3 months but no earlier than 1 month to initiate coordinations.

  5. Please fill out and send the RSLC Training Request Worksheet to the RSLC Commander and Senior Instructor to initiate coordinations for any of the above training opportunities.
