Special Victims Counsel (SVC)

In an effort to combat sexual assault within our ranks, the Army has implemented the position of Special Victims Counsel (SVC) at each military installation.

If you are the victim of a sexual assault, you may be entitled to a free attorney known as a Special Victim Counsel (SVC). This SVC attorney can answer all questions you have about investigations and the legal process, including filing a restricted or unrestricted report. Everything that you discuss with an SVC will be kept strictly confidential, meaning it CANNOT BE REVEALED to chain of command, law enforcement, other attorneys, the SARC or UVA, or anyone else without your permission. An SVC can accompany you at interviews, legal proceedings, and assist you with many other legal concerns. You may request an SVC at any time.

The SVCs are specifically selected to ensure sexual assault victims are provided responsive and timely legal advice and support throughout the military justice process. For more information generally regarding this program please see http://www.army.mil/article/114268.

The Installation Special Victims’ Counsel is Capt. Gabrielle Bloodsaw. Capt. Gabrielle Bloodsaw can be reached at 703-347-4507 or by email at gabrielle.d.bloodsaw.mil@army.mil.
