Col. (Ret.) David M. Moore

Colonel (Retired) David Moore is the fifth child of Lt. Gen. Hal and Julia Moore. He was born in Oslo, Norway, while his father was assigned to NATO.

Col. Moore graduated from West Point in 1984 and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the infantry.

Dave Moore retired in November of 2011, having completed 27 years of active federal service. Afterward, Dave established “Command Decisions, LLC,” a project management consulting and leadership coaching business.

Col. Moore’s military assignments included service in Germany with the Third Armored Division and the Fifth Corps Long Range Surveillance Company. He also served in multiple positions within the 82nd Airborne Division.

He then transitioned to a career managing Army procurement programs ranging from combat vehicles to software program management.

Col. Moore earned a Master of Industrial Engineering at North Carolina State University and is a graduate of the U.S. Army War College.

Recently, Col. Moore earned an executive certificate in leadership coaching from Georgetown University.

During his career, Col. Moore participated in Operations JUST CAUSE, DESERT SHIELD, and DESERT STORM, Operation IRAQI FREEDOM, and Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. His awards include the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Distinguished Service Medal, Bronze Star, Ranger Tab, and Senior Parachutist Badge with bronze star device.

David lives in Auburn, Alabama, with his wife, Teresa, and has three daughters. Teresa will love to tell you she’s from Brooklyn but loves Auburn. She is active with St. Michaels Church in Auburn.
