MISSION STATEMENTS
Provide support for the Army Sustainment Command (ASC) LBE and RESET programs on behalf of the Army Material Command (AMC) for Weapons, Communication, Fire Control, and Night optics. Also, provide Installation Sustainment and Field Maintenance support on Small Arms, Communication, Fire Control, and Optical Equipment.
The Mata Weapons & Electronics Sustainment Facility is located on Kelley Hill in Building 9074. The hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Mata facility has a Fire Control Shop, an Optics Shop, and a Communications Shop. The Optic and Communication section is certified in performing Special Technical Inspection and Repair (STIR) on Night Vision Devices.
The Fire Control Shop conducts Field and Sustainment level inspections, repairs and services for most mortar sites, command launch unit and missile equipment.
The Optics Shop conducts Field and Sustainment level repairs and services on optic equipment. This shop repairs most night vision devices and performs annual service on them. The shop has a dark room to better diagnose and protect the light-sensitive components of the devices; the high resolution/low resolution testing is more accurate in a dark room.
The Communications Shop conducts Field and Sustainment level repairs and services on both tactical and commercial electronic equipment and devices. Repair and services specialties include but are not limited to tactical and commercial radios, tactical communications node components, Single Channel Ground to Air Radio Systems (SINGARS), and commercial two way radios (fixed, mobile, and hand held).
