Senior Gunner Course

General

The Senior Gunner Course trains accomplished noncommissioned officers to be Mounted Machine Gun gunnery subject matter experts to assist commanders at all echelons in planning, executing, and evaluating Mounted Machinegun direct-fire platform gunnery).

Scope

Instruction includes gunnery skills testing on M240B, M2 and MK19 crew served weapons, small arms ammunition, Armed Forces Vehicle Identification (AFVID), optics, DIDEA Process, Gunnery Training Management, Prerequisites to Live Fire, Vehicle Crew Evaluator certification, and Range Operations.

Prerequisites

• E5 (P) to E8
• Assigned to an Mounted Machine Gun(MMG) platform (non MOS-specific)
• GT score of 100
• Must volunteer for the course
• One year experience as a vehicle commander or gunner
• Gunnery Certification verified by Battalion Commander
